The North Haven SLSC takes great pride in keeping it’s beach, plus the coast from Taperoo to Semaphore Jetty, safe for those members of the public who wish to enjoy it. Always swim between the flags where possible.

However, we can’t be there all the time, so while there are no lifesavers on the beach, we encourage everyone to maintain the surf safety ideals we adhere to;

·         Never swim alone or after dark

·         Always keep your eye on a permanent landmark, like a building (not a car), so as to stay in the same area and not drift too far

·         NEVER EVER swim whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol

·         Always ensure others know where you have gone and when you plan to be back

·         If you’re in any doubt about the water, think safety first and don't enter

The North Haven Surf Life Saving Club encourages people to enrol themselves in one of the many courses that teach you resuscitation or various levels of first aid. Many organisations run these courses, from Surf Life Saving, to St. Johns, Red Cross, and the Royal Life Saving Society. Resuscitation and first aid are skills that you never know when you may be required to use, and are certainly a skill that all Australian lifesavers pride themselves on. Do not hesitate to contact any of the above organisations, or their clubs to make inquires about any of the courses they offer.
