Have you ever thought you’d like to be a drone pilot? Or patrol on a jet ski? Or drive a jet rescue boat?
Perhaps even fly in a helicopter? Then surf lifesaving could be what you’re looking for …………..
The North Haven Surf Life Saving Club is running an intensive training course for people who wish to gain their Bronze medallion, which would then allow them to branch into one (or more) of the activities mentioned above.
There is only one pre-requisite and that is you must be able to complete a 400m swim in a pool prior to the proposed start date of 12th March.
In brief the course would be:
Friday 12th March (5-8 pm) – Site induction, Membership registration, Surf Lifesaving Organisation
Saturday 13th March (9am-noon) – Online learning modules, beach swim, surf lifesaving equipment
Friday 19th March (5-8 pm) – First Aid Theory
Saturday 20th March (9am-noon) – Rescue techniques, Spinal care, Lifting techniques
